- 1Go aerobic: 20 minutes three times a week will do more to reduce your body fat than crunches.
- 2Make less more: Satisfy your cravings with frequent meals instead of fattening food or just a big meal. If you haven't already switched to three smaller meals a day with snacks in between. Also don't go longer than three hours between any of these eating episodes.
- 3Drink lots of water: The volume will help you feel full. 8 pints per day minimum. Stay hydrated.
- 4Dial down caffeine: Cut down to 2 or 3 cups of coffee or tea a day or less. Caffeine is an appetite stimulator.
- 5Move yourself: Fit exercise into your regular day. Take the stairs instead of the elevator and walk instead of the car.
- 6Cut foods: If you eat numerous fatty foods, such us take-away's, chocolate, fried meats etc, and you have had trouble getting off the abs-bloating stomach, take it one at the time. One week cut one food from your diet, the next week cut out the second bad food, and so on replacing it with a healthy one.
- 7Get stronger: Build strength training into your routine. Muscle burns more calories than fat. Each one pound of muscle added to your body requires approximately 50 extra calories a day to keep it alive and functioning. Thus you create a fat-burning furnace that keeps you slimmer even when you are busy 9 to 5.
- 8Stay psyched: Don't get discouraged if not alot happens the first week of your new fitness routine. You might lose some water weight, but you probably wont look different. It takes at least one and a half weeks for a pattern to be established. Your results will definitely appear soon so be focused.
- 9Look long term: View your efforts as setting a lifetime routine rather than just being a short term to get lean. That is the fad-diets mentally. You don't want to start all over again in one year do you?
- 10Shrug off lapses: Don't let them get to you. Just get back on track. You are only human there is no disgrace in backsliding, you must progress forward, be calm and remain consistent.
